Get off my lawn! (Formerly "Greetings, hello, and welcome!") Ordinarily this area is devoted to "a few words about me", but I am 25 (formerly 24) years old and I did not get this far by not telling people to get off my lawn (formerly "by telling people about myself"). Instead, you can go on an exciting voyage of non-self-discovery (unless you're myself - and I know I am!) by reading my posts. They date back to February of 2004 - that's more than a shit-ton (formerly three) years of quality!

I love blogging. I love this joint. And just as I predicted, this blog was ten gallons of fun in a one gallon jug. Then the jug split and burst, forcing me to find another one, and since I was unable to find a suitable replacement, I have a bunch of cups sitting around, full of fun. And one of the cups is full of scorpions! So if you decide to have a look around, watch your step.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present: Drawing Blog v2.0. (It has nothing to do with drawing, please stop sending me angry e-mails about that.)

Open Letter

The other day, I was sitting in the classroom before class began and reading the campus newspaper, The Collegian, when I came across an op-ed piece with the interesting title of Tolerating Intolerance. I read through it and felt an immediate need to rebut several of his points. I originally planned to reproduce the article here and then add my comments, but instead I found the article on The Collegian's website. So go here, and you can read the article. It's naturally focused on CSU, but that shouldn't hurt understanding any. I've also rebutted to what I thought was the most crucial flaw in his reasoning there via comment. Unfortunately, I had to reformat the comment and it came out slightly repetitive with no way to edit it. Oh well.

The biggest paper on our campus recently published a story about protests concerning the university's Eurocentric curriculum, and it sure brought the bigots out of the woodwork (with comments along the lines of "Get out of our country if you don't like how we do things!"). It's truly shocking.

I have no use for creationists. And yet, it's true that college campuses are the least tolerant communities in America today.

They just need non-morons to point this out.

-I also noticed that the library chose the edition of Darwin's "On the Origin of Species" that didn't print the book's full name on the front cover; that full title being "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life." Hmm…ol' Charlie Darwin didn't sound too tolerant, did he?-

This paragraph is just so retarded that I can barely breathe right now. I've been trying to write this comment for about ten minutes and I just can't think of anything other than "WTF".

That's okay, Gloria. We're all a little frightened by it. All of us, that is, except...

TYRANNOS, WARLORD OF THE NINTH DIMENSION, DESTROYER OF WORLDS, PRESIDENT OF THE COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT ASSOCIATION.

He's had a strong platform for years, I've always voted for him.

A white, insecure, bible-thumper whines about being persecuted when any social minority's worldviews and ideas are given any time of day or the slightest credibility.

I feel sorry for people like Trevor.
